Wish that the Irish would go after players from Upstate NY where there are many prospects. The ND brand is still Magic up there and ND could get lots of them

the schools up there aren't great and most lax kids grow up thinking about playing for the Orange.

There are deeper places to recruit with kids that are more open to playing away from the Dome.

Basically Central New York and Lawn Guyland (spelled phonetically as the locals pronounce it) only. They don't recruit the western part of the state.

ND had a player a few years back, Kevin Randall, who was from my neck of the woods. Blake Riordan (Albany goalie who scored a goal vs. Cornell in first round of last year's tourney) is from this area as well. Maryland also got a player from this area.

Not national powerhouse programs in this area, but pretty good overall talent, and more open recruiting, at least in Western NY, than you might think.
