NCAA Passes Legislation to Slow Recruiting Process Down

Don't know if anyone saw this and/or has been following it, but
The NCAA Division I Council Frida passed Proposal 2016-26, which will significantly alter the landscape of college recruiting in lacrosse when it takes effect immediately following the close of the April 26 NCAA Board of Directors meeting.

The proposal, submitted jointly by the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association and the Intercollegiate Men’s Lacrosse Coaches Association, and endorsed by US Lacrosse, prohibits college lacrosse coaches from communicating with prospective student-athletes until Sept. 1 of their junior year of high school.

I've included a link from Inside Lacrosse that has a lot of links on the subject; perhaps the most interesting of which are interviews with D1 coaches (Corrigan was not among them).

One of the comments is that when a kid commits at an early age for whatever reason, he/she may have done so without the experience, maturity, perspective (fill in the blank) that could withstand they're growing up.
As a result, there's a lot of changes of commitments and transfers, which we're seeing a lot in D1 women's basketball (see McGraw's Bench her or The Boneyard).

The vote was for this to take place immediately, so there wouldn't be a crash to sign kids before the rule takes place. The only thing that could derail it is if the NCAA Board of Directors delays it in late April, but that is not expected.
