The Cape Cod league got underway last night

ND has 3 players on the Cape this summer:

Slania won in relief for Cotuit
Jagielo was 1 for 3 with an RBI for Harwich playing 3B
Mancini was 0 for 3 as DH also for Harwich-HBP & scored a run

The New England College Baseball League got a little earlier start:

Biggio (playing for N. Adams) leads the league in HRs with 3 and is 2nd in RBIs with 7, hitting .333 in 6 games.
Mosey (playing for Holyoke) has hit 2 HRs, hitting .348 also in 6 games

A. Norton is 1-1 pitching as starter for Holyoke ERA around 3.00 in 13 inn.

Fitzgerald is still working on developing that 3rd pitch as a starter in New Bedford (same place he played last year). Sean pitched well in first start (7 SOs in 5 inn) but with little bat support is now 1-1.

PS (trivia) The Great Great Great nephew of Shoeless Joe Jackson, also named Joe Jackson- a catcher from The Citadel plays for the Bourne Braves on the Cape

Speaking of Biggio...

I wonder if his brother Cavan is on the radar for us. He's supposedly the better of the two boys, he'll be a Sr. next season so with early signing and all this will be his summer to decide most likely.

but they are certainly a more attractive program at this point and as we all know Brian O'Connor is a great coach. I was hoping that the boys wanted to play together in college as well.

Great Updates

Keep them coming . . . if you can. I'm hoping Trey puts together a big summer at the Cape to really boost his draft stock in the eyes of the pro scouts. Selfishly I'd love him to stay 4 years at ND, but I have to be realistic.

Trey Mancini

Trey Mancini continues to nurse sore shoulder from collision at home vs Seton Hall. He is not in Cape Cod - I hear just inflammation no structural damage -just needs rest for several weeks.Should be 100% by Fall practice.

Thanks for this info. *
