Alabama scouting report (half assed by me)
by TerryD (2016-03-02 13:42:44)

Alabama is 7-1, but that number may be deceiving.

The Tide beat Troy 2-1 last night in their first "road game" of the year (How far is it from Tuscaloosa to Troy?).

All other games have been in their home park.

Alabama has beaten Maryland twice, Nichols State once, North Dakota three times and Troy.

The Tide's only loss came at the hands of Maryland in the season opener.

Alabama is hitting .269 as a team (ND is hitting .280). Their staff ERA is quite good at 1.62 (ND is at 2.95).

Alabama has hit 4 home runs. ND has hit 3. Alabama has 13 doubles and 2 triples. ND is at 8 doubles and 1 triple.

Alabama has 5 stolen bases in 6 attempts. ND has stolen 9 bases in 12 attempts.

This will be Alabama's first real road trip as it treks out of "God's Country" (The State of Alabama) for the first time this year.

Alabama's stats are linked below. Their schedule can be found here:

It will be interesting to see how ND matches up with a usually strong SEC baseball team.

Thanks. After basketball last night, I need a change

of pace. Whether records are good or bad, it is very difficult to gauge a teams talent this early but I wouldn't discount any southern team's record. Bama will be tough but we seemed to have woken up last weekend at the plate and our pitching should improve from week to week.

Thanks! Go Irish! *
