Leading CRM Company
New York, NY
Direct Hire

Our client, a SaaS Based CRM company that targets middle market financial institutions is in ramping up mode and they need a Director of Product Marketing and Demand Generation to help them get there.

Nitty Gritty
Currently, this B2B tech firm sells into enterprises that are Salesforce enabled and the CRM software they provide creates an awesome experience that simplifies workflow and even creates a platform (or exchange) for doing business. Currently, they are hyper-targeted at private equity firms, asset managers, hedge funds and the deal-makers on the M&A side.
In this role, you will work directly with the C-Suite (who came out of Management Consulting) to effectively position the firm, segment the customer base, amp up the verticals that are doing well and develop go to market strategies for new markets. These guys are in thoroughbred mode and are ready to scale, scale, scale.
In addition to developing the overarching strategy, you’ll also drive demand marketing and work to fill the top of the funnel with qualified leads using everything from SEO and SEM to Social and Content Marketing. Upgrading their marketing automation game will also fall to you. You’ll identify the right software partner (eg. Marketo, Pardot, Eloqua), establish the gameplan to get the most torque out of your investment, and man-handle everything in between including lead scoring to drip campaigns so you can drive super-qualified leads. You’ll launch it, live it, iterate and lather, rinse, repeat. The entire sales funnel will be yours to architect and you wouldn’t have it any other way. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter that can hit the ground running and leverage their experience to elevate our client’s in-house demand generation and marketing managing capabilities.
Speaking of content marketing, our client doesn’t want to “BUY” the channel, they want to “BE” the channel. And as such you’ll hire a strong copy editor to oversee all branded content from blog posts and presentations to various drip marketing efforts (white papers, newsletters, videos, thought leadership pieces, etc).
Hired Gun Profile
You’re a builder. Your favorite marketing roles have been ones where you’ve worked in an emerging growth company that is in scaling mode. You’ve lived through (and prospered from) a successful pivot or two as well. You love environments where you’re blazing trails and learning and adapting. In the early days it will be you, a branded content person, a strategic consultant and the management team, hunkering down. This means you’re not above still doing “the work of marketing”.
The idea candidate is probably working in FinTech or Ad Tech. There is both a SaaS play here and a platform play. And we would love someone who understands “buy side and sell side” challenges. That said, if you happen to have enterprise level experience working at a different kind of SaaS player, we’re open to meeting you too. Another nice to have is experience working in the DMP (Data Management Processing) Space.
You have experience setting up marketing automation systems and as important have had success deploying them. Managing lead-generation is old hat to you. This place is not one for wallflowers. If you want to be able to stretch out and not hide your ambition and opinion, this gig could be yours.

Inside Skinny
To land this role you have to demonstrate that you can align well with the sales team and have a proven track record as a fantastic influencer who can get “the sales guys” motivated to follow your strategy.

Net-Net
You can really own this role and make it your own. It’s a new position and this company is hungry for a smart, innovative marketer to gin up business. If you have been looking for a marketing gig at a company that’s re-inventing the way big companies manage their business, this could be the one.
