he had to build a program out of thin air.

I know you say this tongue-in-cheek, but do you really

believe the base has forgotten that the core of the 2012 team was comprised largely of, not wholly but largely, Weis' recruits/players. The same core of players, btw, that Kelly blamed for his first 2 years' poor performances; have we forgotten Manti's 'playing for my bros and that's it!!!!' tweet on the heels of the '11 31-17 USC beatdown?

Apparently Kelly finds his typical results (4 out of 5 seasons is the norm, not the 2012 outlier) at ND so odious so as to try and blame them on someone other than himself. If Kelly finds his own results so objectionable, I cannot fathom how Swarbrick finds them either expected or acceptable.

I believe that a lot of people have forgotten

or ignored those facts, yes.

I know there are some boards where they claim that Kelly resurrected ND football and that he isn't to blame for this year's collapse because of youth/inexperience/injuries.

I think that these people represent a larger majority of ND fans than many on this board care to admit.

Ignore I get - there are plenty of Kelly apologists who are

fond of cherry picking data most favorable to Kelly, or who exercise selective memory to whitewash the Kelly record. Swarbrick's recent comments are a tour de force (tour de farce?) of such specious reasoning.

But heaven help us if you are correct about a majority of the ND base 'forgetting' that the core of the '12 squad were largely not Kelly's players, or forgetting that Kelly blamed that same core for team failures the previous year, or who believe the whitewash nonsense spouted by Kelly or Swarbrick.
