If Charlie Strong had still been at Louisville during the 2014 season, and his record this season had been comparable to Petrino's, do you think that ND would have (not should have) gotten rid of Kelly if they could have hired Strong?
I may be totally wrong, but I get the impression that among the "better" coaches in college football, Strong would have been the most eager to take the ND job if there had been a coaching vacancy while he was still at Louisville.
I'm not sure whether Strong would be considered as "low hanging fruit" when it comes to coaching hires, but I'm sure most of us would agree that he is not at the same elite level as Meyer and Harbaugh.
