I was wondering where the Oil & Gas patriots had gone

Energy independence. Net Exporter. - check

Strategically used the strategic petroleum reserve. - check

Haven't heard much from the pipeline guys in awhile. Only fitting that we have to find something new to blow out of proportion. We're in a relatively stable global energy spot right now, so it makes perfect sense that now would be the right time to pause and assess the impact of building new facilities. In the meantime, I'm sure the owners of the current export facilities weren't doing any lobbying for this ruling. It's win-win for them. They keep out competition while getting to moan about the "energy-unfriendly" policies of the administration.

While Biden pledged during his first campaign to transition the U.S. away from the oil industry, he had largely given a pass to natural-gas exporters. After the war in Ukraine broke out, he pledged to provide steady supplies of LNG to the European Union to replace Russian gas.

But the magnitude of U.S. gas exports has made them hard to ignore and raised concerns about their impact on the country’s carbon footprint, domestic gas prices and communities living near the facilities. When the DOE conducted its last analysis into the impact of gas exports in 2018, U.S. LNG export capacity was less than 4 billion cubic feet a day, Granholm said. It has more than tripled, and is set to nearly double by 2030, she said.
