The poor guy has now spent one year in a Russian jail for absolutely no reason.

I actually found it refreshing and inspiring to see media outlets of all political persuasions rally around him. To their credit, MSNBC and CNN did a great job of covering the story and keeping it as their lead hour after hour.

I also thought Biden handled it well with an appropriate and strong statement. It does appear that his administration has not forgotten about Evan and has been working diligently behind the scenes to negotiate his release. The US ambassador in Moscow has been visiting him routinely.

Politicians from both sides of the aisle united yesterday and condemned Putin's holding this journalist hostage.

That is, except one.

As the WSJ noted in an editorial on Thursday, Donald Trump has refused to comment on the issue, prompting the editors to ask "Why the silence, sir?"

It's a damn good question.
