Molly ran a solid race, never trailed and pulled away from Infeld at the end. She ran a 31:41.

She is a lot faster than everyone in the field

Her PR is about 20-25 seconds faster than anyone else in the finals. She is also the only one to break 15 mins in the finals. In addition, she is the only one to be under 15 this year.

If it is a slow tactical race (which it probably will be knowing how these races go), there may be some drama. However, I think she has the speed to beat anyone in the field, and will probably win "easily."

I was wondering if she sand-bagged and maybe she did. *

If you look at her last 400m

She ran 1:08 where her nearest competitors ran 1:05-1:06. So in winning her heat and having the best overall time, she was still able to coast on in.

If it goes anything like the men's race last night

It could be complete chaos. The key to stopping that is not going out as slow as the men did (they went out at 15:20 pace after the first 1k).

Kaila Barber made it to 400m hurdles semi. And interestingly

Christina Aragon (daughter of Chuck Aragon ND '81 - first ND runner to break 4 minute mile) ran the 3rd fastest time in the 1500m as a high school senior.
Unfortunately, she is not following in her Dad's and two sisters (both ran for ND) footsteps to ND. She has committed to Stanford.
