I'd say that's a bit premature since the SEC won it all this

year. In fact the SEC, Pac12, and Big 12 have all won multiple National Championships since the last time the ACC won its only championship this century: (Clemson-2003). In fact Georgia Tech is the only ACC team to get to the finals since Clemson's win which Tech did this year and previously in 2005. Last 20 years champions/runnerups: SEC has 11 (Bama-4, Ga-4, Florida, LSU, & Arkansas); Pac12-10 (Stanford-3,Oregon-2,UCLA-2,ASU,USC & Cal); Big12-10 (Texas-4,OSU-3,Oklahoma-2,TA&M),2-ACC (Tech-2), and 1 Big 10 (Illinois-also a runnerup). There were also a few outliers not in the Power 5 (Augusta State-2 NCs and Pepperdine-1 NC).

ACC may be coming up and had a good NCAA tourney this year, but I wouldn't say they are truly the "top conference for golf". You can't count out the SEC given they won this year and especially as they add Texas & Oklahoma. and the PAC 12 even losing (UCLA & USC). The Big 12 will be down to OSU but they have a long history of success in NCAA golf (11 NCs with at least every decade since the 60's) and are adding the #1 team with 16 NCAA championships Houston, although their last one was in 1985. Then there is the Big 10 who may start improving with the 2 LA schools coming and all their money.

The ACC men's golf history is not as strong as any of the other Power 5 conferences after conference realignment as the only teams with National Championships that are currently in the ACC are Clemson's 1, Wake Forest-3 (74. 75. 86) and Notre Dame back in 1944. The Big 12 will have 27 (last 2018), SEC will have 19 (last 2023), PAC12 will have 14 (last 2019), and Big 10 will have 8 (last would be UCLA's in 2008). All more than the ACC's 5 with their most recent 2003.

The ACC may actually be more competitive in women's golf as they have two teams with National Championships this century including the most recent Wake Forest who won this year. Duke has the second most NCs with 7 and their last was 2019 and Miami won in 1984. The PAC12 has the most with 20 total NCs with Stanford winning last year and ASU topping their list with 8 (last 2017). ACC's 9 is #2 with the SEC 5 (last Ole Miss 2021), Big 12 one (TCU 1983), and Big 10 one (Purdue 2010). Of course the Big 10 will improve with the LA schools as they'll add 6 titles to that list (3 each last USC in 2013).

I'm glad the ACC has a good year in 2023 but I am just trying to keep the facts straight. The ACC has a lot more to achieve before it can claim "top conference for golf". I'd say the 36 total NCs from the PAC12 makes it still the "Conference of Champions" at least for golf and at least until conference realignment eliminates the PAC12.
