Setting aside a debate about actual risk, let’s stipulate by Father Nieuwland

that there will be positive cases.

Of course that will be the case even with no football, but unfortunately that is beside the point.

Look at the people who run college sports. Do you think all 100 of them have the brains to manage this effectively and the guts to tough through positive tests and negative publicity? Half? I wouldn’t bet on more than ten.

The schools will be lucky to navigate educating students this fall, and will need all their goodwill to withstand the slings and arrows which will come from that.

Let the professionals (NFL) be the ones to show it can be done.

Like it was for Jackie Robinson, the one to be first has to be strong enough to take the negativity and good enough to succeed, or else the failure will hurt all those waiting to follow.
