Exactly. Also -- he only needs to be a B- student to be by btd

successful at ND. The original poster is way off base. People constantly describe ND in terms of what it would take to get through ND with a 3.x GPA in tough majors.

That is a totally worthless metric.

5 star football prospects -- which is what this thread is about -- do not need to get through ND with a 3.x GPA in any major at all. They simply need to be capable of getting a 2.x GPA in some major at ND -- and that is actually quite a low bar in reality. That's evidenced by the fact ND has had 1000's of athletes graduate within 4 years with zero academic probation that were at best 3.0 high school students.

My 2 freshman scholarship football player roommates easily illustrated this. One was substantially higher academically than the other - but neither of them were in the upper half of the student body as a whole coming out of high school. They were history majors (some variation of it that I forget the name of now -- but essentially history). One graduated in 3.5 years and the other graduated ultimately in 4.5 years - with a few year break mixed in because he went home to take care of his dying grandfather.

For SAT or ACT it has been written about extensively that ND is no higher requirement wise than pretty much every top 50 team out there. We are higher for required high school courses than some other teams -- but even there not materially higher.
