Important notes on articles:

• Please do not copy entire articles into your post; rather, provide links to them.. We are now links-only for ALL Internet publications. If only a small portion of the article pertains to your post, Fair Use allows you to copy those one or two paragraphs, provided you cite the author's name and the publication for which he writes. Otherwise, put a link in the HTTP Link box.
• Even if you're copying a reference to an article, provide a link to the page from which the article came. We're trying to cut down on duplicate topics, and the posting process will check the link to your article to see if it's already being discussed on this board. At the very least, you'll save yourself some grief on the boards.
• If your first reaction after reading the article you're going to share is the author is uninformed / stupid / a jerk / all of the above, it's not worth sharing with anyone. Not every article needs to be discussed. The more the hair-pulling articles are discussed (e.g. ESPN Page 2), the more the authors will write hair-pulling articles.

My experience has been that most ND fans want to be able to say things like, "we do things the right way" and "Notre Dame isn't for everyone" and "we'll never stoop to win championships the way that (fill in the blank power team) does." They say these things without realizing all of the concessions that have been made over the past 15 years (even before Kelly) and just go about their day, because they're more casual about it than anything and in love with the school and not the football program.

That's all well and good, and like I said before we all know it's bullshit and we don't even need to post about it anymore. Kelly is full of shit, his assistant coaches that spew that nonsense are full of shit, the schedule is bullshit and full of body bag games, the AD is a liar and likely involved in cover ups at multiple places, etc. It doesn't matter, because what you see is good enough for the vast majority of fans and alumni and they'll keep buying the merchandise and tuning in (when they can) to support the lads of our lady's university. And when we have a down year, it will be due to the 2016 election and we just need to remember that it's 20 year old boys throwing a ball around.
