Here are a few notes from Sunday

I saw the first two quarters vs. Air Force. Each quarter was scored independently. ND won the first 1-0 and the second 4-1. The ND offense struggled with turnovers in the first, but looked better in the second. The defense looked good throughout. Freshman Matt Schmidt was the goalie for both quarters and played with poise. Other freshmen that I saw on the field regularly were Connor Morin, Mikey Drake, Arden Cohen, and Wheaton Jackobice. Schmidt and Cohen looked ready to be starters in goal and on defense respectively. Sophomore Kyle Hyland took most of the faceoffs, after John Travisano took the first. Grad transfer Carlson Milikin played in the midfield; I believe that he was injured last year.

None of the goal scorers were announced, but I know that Ryder Garnsey, Bryan Costabile, and Timmy Phillips scored. Costabile may have scored a second one. Brendan Collins and Brian Willetts were active and one of them may also have scored a goal.

My overall impression was positive, except for the early turnovers.
