Recruits competing against one another

I was at a tournament earlier this month that featured the incoming recruits and rising senior commits of nine schools: Denver, Ohio State, Michigan, Hofstra, Bellarmine, Cleveland State, Sacred Heart, Monmouth, and VMI. From what I could see, Ohio State had the best incoming recruits. I talked to a Denver parent and they said their team was "doing poorly." My son will be attending Cleveland State and they nearly tied up Michigan. In sum, it seems like Ohio State has a strong group, Denver may be down unless some key recruits were not in attendance, and there's no reason ND should ever lose to Michigan ... but isn't that always the case?
