1st goal after 2 minutes and got up 2-0 very quickly. Lot's of back and forthe from there but ND always led and kept extendign the lead. Duke got to 10-7 but ND scored the last twp. Very good ball movement. Draws are even 10-10 which is pretty good since that is a Duke strength. Both teams have score extra player goals (ND 2-1).

Hope they can keep it up to get to the semis for only theird time since being in the ACC. The winner gets #1 UNC who beat L'ville 19-6 in the 1st game.

Please note Women’s Lax if possible.

Nothing against the ladies. Just confusing. Start of thread helps.

Sorry-when I started the post it was 4 lines above my post

titled "Women moved up to #5 in IL poll. Face #6 Duke tomorrow". I thought it would be redundant to mention that it was the women who were playing Duke at the day I had recently mentioned. I forget that after I post lots of the thread follows below and separates that so that those that want to ignore women's lacrosse might get confused. I'll do better next time.

Howe scores with less than 3 minutes left. Hold on-win 17-16

Great save by Deehan on free play by Barry with 95 seconds left. Howe keeps the ball until time runs despite bein double teamed and fouled throughout.

Duke dominating the 2nd half *

That was good D and an important score. Now 15-13, we need to get more.

Rules question

What is the purpose of dropping the stick after a score?

Refs have to check their sticks for the right pocket size.

It's a rule.

Unique to the women’s game?

I don’t watch a lot of lacrosse but I don’t recall seeing it on the men’s side

Yes, unique to the women's game. They have many

rules that are unique. I wish they would play it more like the men's game, in terms of rules.

The traditionalists will argue that the women's game

is more in line with the original rules, etc.

The first year of ND WLAX the out of bounds rules were if you threw it out of bounds on a non-shot attempt it was your ball at that end of the field. There were a lot of long erratic passes.

Not a rules expert. Seems like just celebration by the goal

scorer much like running to the engline after a soccer goal. Since after goal they faceoff in the center of the field again it seems appropriate.

Curious because it seems like it every goal. *

It is, they are required to drop it after every goal. *
