....has ND at No. 1. Which, doesn't seem out of whack to me. It's summer content filler, for sure, but it is a lot of fun to read media musing about a three-peat.

And the Way Too Early Tewaaraton list has 2 Irish

In their 15 man list.

Lyght is listed as #8, one of 3 Defensemen and the only Non-goalie on the list

Chris Kavanagh gets the top spot over CJ Kirst (#2) and Joey Spallina (#3)

did I EVER consider an ND lacrosse three-peat until I read your post. Boy that was a nice consideration.

I thought about it watching the championship game last year

As we demolished the competition. Plus realizing athletes like Jordan Faison have to fight for playing time with our depth chart. We still have a Kavanaugh on the team and a highly rated goalie recruit.

Lets do it

IL.com just tabbed his brother as a five-star prospect. Will be great to see the two of them on the field together when he gets here.

Sadly I believe they will only overlap one year *

It's a great feeling and we're playing with house money...

...in that regard.
Are we a "ND vs. the field" type favorite to win? No. Would it be freaking awesome and cement these ND teams as one of the great dynasty's of the sport. Heck yes. And if we don't three-peat, we still have the glow of two straight titles to keep us warm and happy.

Fencing pulled it off in 23, only ND program to do it. ND

now has 34 NCs per Wikipedia: 13 fencing, 11 football, 3 women's soccer, 2 women's bball, 2 men's basketball, 2 men's lacrosse, and 1 men's soccer. Of the 34, 17 were NCAA tournament championships and only 8 of those were outside of fencing. It would be impressive for ND to pull off a threepeat. Men's lacrosse would then match women's soccer as the only ND programs to have 3 NCs other than fencing and football.

WBB was so close to a mini-dynasty too!

Offhand, those 2010s teams would have won against anyone without a 6'5+ star, but UConn/Stewart and Baylor/Griner likely took at least 1, if not 2 from us. A&M if I recall had a very productive big and got red-hot at the right time, and there's one more (LSU/Stanford perhaps?) I'm missing. Muffet McGraw is a HoF coach with a very impressive resume regardless, but gosh, we really weren't that far from 2-3 more where she'd have overtaken VanDerveer, been in line with Mulkey, and just Auriemma and Summitt ahead (Staley may well flip this order by the time it's all said and done too, and obviously would love to see Niele Ivey do the same!).

Cross board talk but ND could legitimately have 3 NCs
