I've recommend When Money Dies: The Nightmare of Deficit Spending, Devaluation, and Hyperinflation in Weimar Germany by Adam Fergusen

Not exactly a history on the Republic but an in the weeds look at what life was like in post-WWI Germany and the economic system of the time. While the book focuses on the hyperinflation of the time, there's a substantial amount of information about who was leading, what the policies were, what was happening regionally and how people were able or not able to survive the times.
