Must be revenge for the hockey gold medals.
Visibility was under a mile a few hours ago. There's little bits of ash floating around at times, it almost looks like little snow flurries.
This is much worse than it was a few years ago (2023 I think?).
The entire sky has been an odd shade of yellow and impending thunderstorm the last two days. End of times looking stuff.
Hoping we get an awesome sunset at least…
And the sun is blotted out here in CT right now.
The sky is not blue. Can also smell the smoke at times.
sun looks like a Soundgarden video
Like standing 15 ft downwind from a campfire. Can we send a Tenderfoot scout to the next camp to bring us a Smoke shifter?
But I don’t really see much problem out my window right now.
Looks orange on the asphalt.
That should make you feel good
Seeing pics from the UP of cars covered in ash. The bridge is looking spooky.
City on the Huron side. On our last day, you couldn't see the bridge nor the island.
The day before, we road our bike near Mullet Lake. You could only see about halfway across.
But a friend camping up in Oscoda is packing up and heading home. They are 150 yards from the shore of Lake Huron and can’t see it.
They sent pictures and the smoke was thick. AQI was 785 there this morning.
that we didn't have any smoke this year. I think for the last 2 year (if not 3) we've had the smoke all summer and I wondered if all the fires were out or what had changed. Sounds like we're getting the smoke back today
But only forecasted to stick around for 2 days or so.
The sky is a hazy gray-orange. It looks like the sun set about 10 minutes ago
Hazy orange skies and you can smell the burning
It was like huffing Marlboro Reds in a steam room.
