We saw the performance in the Heritage Music Hall in Crown Center in KCMO. It was about a 225ish seat converted movie theatre.

The show was excellent. Casting was interesting: Pontius Pilate was a black female; Judas was a 6’4 African American male; Jesus was a pudgy, short bi-racial dude.

The music was very good.

I asked our parish priest if it was ok to go. The UCUSB say that it’s a secular interpretation of Christ’s last days before crucifixion. Some May finds its lack of adherence to a strict Gospel narrative may find it offensive. It’s ok for mature audiences. He concluded with, ‘That said; it’s not a sin to attend.’

So I did. And it was very entertaining.
