When I was watching the Little League World Series this past summer I caught just a few moments of a tribute to Michael Cammarata. He played for Staten Island in the 1991 Little League World Series where his team lost to California in the U.S. championship.

As we approach the 25th anniversary of 9/11 this Friday I know there will be a number of tributes to the people who were lost that day. For me 9/11 was my second day of work at a new company in NYC after moving back from Tokyo. One of the things that stands out to me the most from that time was the months following 9/11. It seemed just about every Saturday there was a service for a fire fighter and I would often see fireman in a bar after another fallen fireman's funeral service.

Michael Cammarata had just become a fireman in 2001 and was the youngest fireman to died that day in the line of duty. His number, 11, is now retired at Williamsport for the Little League World Series. If you have 30 minutes I recommend watching the show linked.
