Perhaps there were early signs Michael Moriarty was "off"

I'm currently watching the 1978 NBC miniseries "Holocaust." It's a brilliant cast - Meryl Streep, James Woods, Ian Holm - but Michael Moriarty flat-out walks away with the whole thing playing a careerist-bureaucrat-type who happens to be an SS officer orchestrating the extermination of European Jewry.

And four years later he was starring in....this???

I met him at The Palm Beach Hilton in 1997 or 1998

Nice guy. He tipped well as did Marvin Hamlisch.

He did have along stint as the lead on Law & Order

Regarding the Holocaust series, it really was groundbreaking with many terrific actors. It also had a major impact when it was broadcast in West Germany.

As for being a “bit off”, James Woods is certainly in that category also.

A fine pitcher in Bang The Drum Slowly *
