Just got back from there.

We stayed at the Springhill Suites bayfront, basically across the street from the Midway and the Coronado ferry, and loved the location. We walked everywhere from Little Italy to the convention center to to the airport (on a morning jog, it’s just two miles away.). I loved being able to look out over the water with my morning coffee. The Midway is good, Balboa Park is worth checking out, particularly the Timken Art Museum which is free. The zoo is, wait for it, $54. We skipped it.

We thought the Gaslamp district was horrifying. Very glad we did not stay there.
