It's a lot easier to galvanize a potential fanbase when the prospective team just played in a Super Bowl.
I don't necessarily think the interference no-call was conspiratorial. It was just a huge miss. But I'm sure Goodell LOVES the fact that LA is in the Super Bowl.
Even with decent ticket sales, there were tens of thousands of empty seats at Rams games, especially last year. Obviously, attendance improved this year as things went along. Winning does that in LA. Hell, half the crowd vs. Dallas were Cowboys fans. In the second-largest market in the US.
Dodgers #1 in total attendance #1 in game average
Lakers sold out every home game
Kings sold out every home game
Rams #12 in attendance in temporary stadium under construction. 5000 tickets behind the Chiefs BTW.
Saints would get better TV numbers than Rams. Not even close.
