Anyone own a Scarab 215 Wake or a HeyDay Wakeboats WT2-DC?

We are getting rid of our pontoon boat and with the kids getting older we are wanting to do more watersports. B11, B8, and G6 have really only tubed and kneeboarded behind the current 70 hp pontoon.

My wife would prefer to buy a new pontoon or deck boat, I want the ability to wake surf for the kids. We live in a neighborhood with a 275 acre watersports lake. We do not live on the lake, but we do have a dock on the water.

My wife loves the Versa-Lounge Seating of the Scarab and we could buy used here potentially saving 20-40% off the HeyDay. I'm concerned by the jet motors, and whether a jet boat will be able to produce a big enough wake to surf.

We saw the HeyDay WT2-DC at the Chicago Boat Show and at first it caught our eye because of how awkward it looked, however upon boarding it really checked off all our boxes and was really more of a deck boat that was set up perfectly for wake surfing and wake boarding. The kids loved the hot tub seating.

Does anyone own either one of these boats, or a Scarab or HeyDay in general?

Thoughts on one vs the other

First, I do not have or have not been in either a scarab or a Heydey. I only have experience with Nautique and Mastercraft. However, looking at the two the Heydey is specifically built for wakesports specifically surfing and would likely be far better than a scarab if surfing is your goal. Scarab took over what was formerly seadoo boats. I'm sure the Scarab is a plenty good boat, but a jet is far from ideal for wake specific watersports. They come with towers, ballast etc... but looks can be deceiving. The Heydey is a V-drive inboard which should be a much better tow boat. From looking at it the Heydey is built only to create a solid wake for surfing and wakeboarding. The scarab is built to be a runabout jetboat. They are two very different animals. Almost like comparing your pontoon to a tournament slalom boat. You probably want to test drive both as the wake will likely be vastly different between the two. A good wake is critical to having a good surf experience.

The wake from a boat with inboard ballast tanks and room for fat sacks to add more ballast on the wake side will be superior to anything a jet boat can produce. If well kept, they hold their value quite well, as our 21' 2006 compares very favorably to a new model for $80k.

Rear seating on Malibus, MasterCraft, etc is wrong for us.

We are going from a 24’ pontoon and my wife doesn’t want it to feel crowded. She would still rather have a pontoon or deck boat. She just likes to float, drink, and sun. 22’ fiberglass hull limit on our lake.

My wife and I like the Versa-Lounge on the Scarab. Kids like the hot tub seating on the HeyDay.

Let me check with my man servant. Unsure what motor vessel
