Our oldest (Grade 11) is deciding among countries, not regions of the US or individual schools. She's looking at Canada, a few schools in Europe (The Netherlands, the UK, and one school in Austria), and considering the US, but it isn't necessarily her first choice. The American college system is very foreign to her. It has been a much different process than ours.

I will also note that our students that are applying to top-flight schools in the US are much, much, much more visibly stressed out than their peers that are looking elsewhere. The IB Diploma is difficult enough without adding in the required high SATs/plethora of extra-curricular activities that are required to get into US schools.
