But for the few who will be, this is some awesome historical footage on The New York Dolls. The Dolls blew up too soon, but there's wasn't a punk band of the '70s or a hair band of the '80s who didn't cuff something from them. The Dolls, The Ramones, Iggy and the Stooges; they were all rough, but it was so much better than the inauthentic over-produced drivel that passes for progressive music today.

And to think, Johansen thought he'd find something better than this. He ended up becoming Buster F'n Poindexter instead.

The documentary on Arthur "Killer" Kane was great

"New York Doll" - released in 2005. Honestly, I knew nothing about the Dolls before stumbling on this. Kane's story was compelling.
