This is immoral.
It's pretty staggering math.
$225k per game.
Given the average ticket price at a Halos game last year was $30.
That basically means the first 7,500 people who walk in the door, go to paying Trout's salary.
dollar, those guys all deserve it more than the owners, IMO.
That contract record didn't last long did it.
It feels right
have to chase "the big three" to win a title. If you are happy where you are and they can pay you market value...stay. I need to turn my son on to Mike Trout...seems like the down to earth, hardworking guy that would be a good sports role model. Trouble is, in the eastern time zone, we'll never see him play.
But given that this contract takes him through his age 40 season, it is probably fair.
I assumed that the 12 years would begin after Trout's current contract expired in 2020, but it will apparently begin immediately.
Trout was already going to be paid $66 million over the next 2 years, so this is really a 10 year extension for an additional $364 million. Given that, I think it is a clear win for the Angels. Of course, Trout now has generational wealth and he gets to stay where he is comfortable, so he probably won't feel too bad if he left tens of millions on the table.
continue to only see Trout on a highlight reel.
what will bidding start at next fall?
45 is possible in GAB. Behind Votto & ahead of Suarez.
