I have more recently transitioned to sherried scotches. Macallan, Glendronach, and Aberlour A’bunadh are some favorites.

Bourbon is better.

I have bottles in my stash.

But there's something about the olfactory effrontery of Laphroig that is spectacularly needed on Saturday nights after Notre Dame loses.

The correct answer is to stop walking at Lagavulin,

Because you need walk no further down that road.

Obviously don’t drive down the road, you!re drinking.

(For those who haven’t been blessed to experience it, these three distilleries all lie on one 1.5 lane road due east of Port Ellen. There’s a bike/walking track that connects them to town.)

Yes, but I have to - to get to my 1 sq ft of property

For those that don't know what I'm talking about, Laphroig bottle has info to sign up for 1 sq ft of property - they actually send you a "deed"

Oh, for peat's sake! *
