According to a guy I know who knew him in high school at St. Mark's (all boys) in Dallas, there was a girl at their sister school (Hockaday) nick-named "Dyna-flow".

Ask him about his writer's block. If I recall correctly ...
by Rocksteady74  (2019-10-18 10:02:55)     cannot delete  |  Edit  |  Return to Board  |  Ignore Poster   |   Highlight Poster  |   Reply to Post

... he couldn't write his own songs for more than a decade, leaving him to sing other people's material. I think he overcame the block more recently, but I'm not certain.

His most recent album is mostly covers and four songs that a friend of his wrote especially for him. So, maybe he's still suffering the block.

Scaggs opened Slim's in San Francisco 20 years ago. I saw Warren Zevon there circa 1990-91 and he was amazing.

1990-91 was almost 30 years ago.

I went to high school with his son Austin; Boz was a good dude and so was his son. One of his other sons overdosed a few years later, unfortunately.

James the Drifter questions?
by volley  (2019-10-18 10:08:10)     cannot delete  |  Edit  |  Return to Board  |  Ignore Poster   |   Highlight Poster  |   Reply to Post

James was a guy Letterman met when doing shows out in Vegas. They ended up using him as a correspondent to interview people during Super Bowl week and stuff like that.

"Who are you?"
"What position are you?"
(if the answer was quarterback)
"That's good!"
