Does he mind being associated with it?
The Steve Miller Band.
According to a guy I know who knew him in high school at St. Mark's (all boys) in Dallas, there was a girl at their sister school (Hockaday) nick-named "Dyna-flow".
... he couldn't write his own songs for more than a decade, leaving him to sing other people's material. I think he overcame the block more recently, but I'm not certain.
His most recent album is mostly covers and four songs that a friend of his wrote especially for him. So, maybe he's still suffering the block.
Scaggs opened Slim's in San Francisco 20 years ago. I saw Warren Zevon there circa 1990-91 and he was amazing.
1990-91 was almost 30 years ago.
I went to high school with his son Austin; Boz was a good dude and so was his son. One of his other sons overdosed a few years later, unfortunately.

It’s been over 40 years since our last update. Has he slowed down at all?
And I sing it very loudly when I'm in my car.
