I've also seen and liked Princess Bride, Captain Blood, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars (sword fighting style is very similar to that of the Japanese period films), Pirates of the Caribbean, etc.

My favorite genre is the Japanese samurai film. At least the ones that come to the West have great plots and enough action to keep the movie interesting.
