Women’s US AMATEUR

I forgot it was being played and turned to the Golf Channel to see the PGA....but the Amateur was on!

The tournament is being played just a few miles from our home at Woodmont CC, Rockville. I never played the course(s) back in the day nor had I been on the property. Could have played it with reciprocity back in the day but never did. Nice aerial views...it is set way back from a busy street, Rockville Pike loaded with strip malls, restaurants, car dealership - the main non-highway drag in the county that leads to DC.
ND sophomore, Lauren Beaudreau, from Lemont, Il. just won her first round of 64 match on the first extra hole! She was up a bit and then slipped but halved the last hole to continue on!

Hope the weather doesn’t cause another delay as it did the other day in stroke play, weather at the moment is very ominous. Dark clouds and as it has been all week, very humid. At least we have been ONLY in the mid to high 80s.
