The TV manufacturer's ERP system would already have codes assigned for the specific customer. They also likely have EDI systems (shared database) with their customers to streamline delivery and minimize inventory buildup.
That it was for those, 'we'll beat any price' claims. Small print says 'same model.'
So you see that same TV sold at Costo for less than you paid at Best Buy and you try to claim that difference from Best Buy, but they point to the model numbers and say, 'nope.'
Circuit City
From what I understand, the ones sold at "budget" retailers might use components (especially the actually LED panels) that aren't as good.
....sold at HD or Lowe's vs. a real plumbing supply company. Fixtures that look identical outside but get plastic internals instead of brass...etc...
It's always fun to explain to clients why the fixture we spec'd and put in the schedule at $300 appears to be on sale at Home Depot for $150.
