Much of the pricing is because rental companies are paying absurd prices for used cars. Just the other day saw a Hertz wholesale list there they were selling a 60k mile car for $23k. The very next day they were bidding on the exact same model car with 2k more miles for $25k. MSRP on the car new was $30k
