Has a nice and tight story, doesn't rely on big action set pieces and they did a good job of replicating the original's story beats. None of the stupidity you see in other Predator or AvP films. They also countered a few common tropes in clever ways (won't spoil them here).

If it were a standalone film and there were no Predator films before it, it would still be a good movie on its own.

And Father Sorin made a cameo with those French trappers! *
