But softball did win again, 6-4, to improve to 19-13 overall, 6-5 in the ACC.
If the Irish are winning, the updates are frequent. But, if the Irish are going down to defeat the updates get very sparse, and several times this year the updates just stop around the 7th. Today the updates were coming at a good clip until it was 3-1 with runners on base for ND. The next update was the 9-2 final with a simple mention of the next game. I guess 7 runs weren't worthy of mention. Pravda.
lessened with recent winning bonanza?
play some flat uninspiring baseball. They looked more relieved when they win than excited. Even our best players look worse at the plate and in the field than when they started with the program. The pitchers struggle more and more to throw strikes as they age. Defense? Our players continue to regress. Strategy? I don't see any cogent plan to play winning baseball. The guy has one long extra inning game in NCAAs against Texas on his resume. He continues to set our program back.
but we're still 10-15 against a decidedly less-than-impressive schedule.
At this pace, assuming a 56-game season (making up any/all postponed games), ND would finish 21-35 overall and 10-20 in the ACC. That's not going to cut it, not by a long shot.
I don't see that happening. Beating Pitt, NC State is nice but not where ND should be relegated.
They will most definitely come, Ray.
