Mainieri mentioned that while at ND no one attended the games until after we went to the National Championship. He said he had to constantly work hard to get fans & administrators to take baseball seriously at ND and when LSU called, he had no choice but to take that job. He discussed going to dinner tonight with Auburn's AD Alan Greene, who was in his first recruiting class at ND and praised him and reviewed his background prior to getting the Auburn job.
