He mentioned the 2 times the Phillies won the WS they had an ND alum on the team...himself in 1980 and Lidge in 2008. He then brought up Vierling.

It was alumni weekend for the Phillies, so whenever Reed was mentioned the announcers, particularly John Kruk, stated, "Notre Dame in the house" and then spoke about Vierling.
Vierling is holding his own, and people seem to like him.
