Alliances Manager
Are you looking to change the world, if so read on.
Our client Usher 1F Collaborative, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, was founded in 2013 with the mission to fund medical
research to find an effective treatment to save or restore the vision of those with Usher Syndrome type 1F.
Usher 1F Collaborative funds top researchers at the Universities of Pittsburgh, Maryland, Oregon, Iowa, and Western
Australia. In addition, they have partnered with researchers at Harvard University and the Centre for Eye Research
Australia. These researchers, working independently and collaboratively, are making significant progress toward a
treatment for Usher 1F, testing cutting-edge gene and drug therapies and developing stem cell therapies from patients’ own
skin cells.
At this time they are looking for an Alliances Manager to join their team to help cure this disease. Reporting to the
President of Usher 1F Collaborative, as well as to the Board of Directors, the Alliances Manager will be responsible for
identifying, cultivating, and stewarding relationships with potential donors, in particular Jewish philanthropists in major
U.S. cities, foundations funding blindness research, as well as corporate donors. In addition, in preparation for a planned
natural history study of Usher Syndrome type 1F, the Alliances Manager will be responsible for reaching out to retinal
researchers at academic medical centers to help us forge a relationship with these physicians and to help us recruit them as
participants. This role can be located in any major market and primarily will work remote.
