by Barney68 (2020-09-15 15:24:51)

Syntonics LLC is seeking creative electrical / mechanical / software engineers with interests and experience in robotics, radio communications, radar, or similar high-tech products. You will be joining an engineering team that is:

• Designing new autonomous robotic capabilities. Syntonics is beginning a major DoD-funded program to integrate our existing tethered unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) product onto an unmanned ground vehicle (UGV). This cutting-edge robotics work includes tactically tough mechanical, kinematic mechanism, electronics, and embedded software design.

• Designing new radio remoting technologies. Syntonics is performing on a major DoD-funded program to increase the survivability of mobile next-generation command posts by remoting the antenna suite away from the radios in the CP. Work includes RF up to 3 GHz, RF-over-Fiber, analog, digital, and embedded software, and packaging design for tactically tough equipment that interoperates with combat net and MANET radios.

• Designing new radar capabilities. Syntonics is performing on a major DoD-funded program to develop hostile fire detection radar for soldiers and vehicles. Work includes RF up to 10 GHz, analog, digital, FPGA’s, DSP’s, and embedded software.

Syntonics’ culture is collaborative and relaxed from engineering to production to administration. Lunch is provided daily – making it easy to get to know your team as people in addition to the work focus. Our senior staff are excellent mentors and adept at succinctly conveying the crux of understanding necessary to solve a problem. Come work with us, have fun, be challenged, and get smart fast.

Qualifications (in order of importance): U.S. citizenship, enthusiasm, work ethic, curiosity, relevant professional experience, communications skills.

Interested? Send an email to HR@SyntonicsCorp.com along with your resume. If you have recently graduated, please also include unofficial transcripts.

Permanent Hire Job Description:

Job Title: Electrical Engineer

Syntonics LLC is looking for Electrical Engineers with interests in math, digital signal processing, circuit design, and/or programming in C with applications in RF Communications and RADAR.

We believe in a holistic approach to engineering. We typically begin with theory and explore the art of the possible to solve a problem. Next we conceive of implementations of the solution that map to the right blend of RF, analog, Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA’s), Digital Signal Processors (DSP’s), analog components, and sometimes Application Specific Integrated Circuits (ASIC’s). We have a culture where all these domains are understood by all our engineers so that our implementation solutions are the best that can be done.

In practical terms, this means things like – the switching power supply should be frequency locked to the RF synthesizer to locate birdies out of band – the filter design should be a joint exploration between what’s easy in the RF domain and what’s possible in the digital – we strive to develop processing algorithms that can tolerate modest precision fixed point math so that they map well to FPGA’s where the operations per watt and per cm2 are good, and reserve complex math for DSP’s.
