In light of our Mission, Charism and Generous Promises, the Accounting Manager/On-site Representative in La Grange Park is responsible for monitoring and providing direction in relation to Sister finances and monetary needs, including but not limited to; banking functions, assisting with enrollment in health insurance and government programs (Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid), local vehicle fleet coordination and annual budget and audit preparation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Local contact for:
    • House budgets and Sisters' living expenses
    • Sister financial needs/questions
    • Financial matters for Sisters transferring between locations
    • Patrimony questions and paperwork (with assistance from Patrimony Coordinator, when needed
    • Coordinate financial matters upon a Sister's death.
  • Manage relationship with local bank(s)
  • Oversee the Center Sister checking account(s)
  • Point person for local credit card management
  • Oversee local vehicle fleet; participate in local and Congregational vehicle committees
  • Oversee local managed maintenance program for fleet
  • Oversee Sisters' enrollment in health insurance and government programs
  • Assist Sisters with income tax and legal matters, in conversation with Finance Director or CFO, as needed
  • Assist Sisters with paperwork/enrollment for retirement annuities, 401K/403B accounts, bequests, gifts, etc.
  • Work closely with Finance staff; motivating and directing staff to ensure work is performed properly and staff is following assigned schedules
  • Prepare monthly journal entries as assigned
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations as assigned
  • Invoice posting review for coding and accuracy
  • Distribute monthly department reports
  • Assist with yearly audit/review preparation
  • Assist with yearly budget preparation
  • Assist with other projects or staff positions as needed and requested.


SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Deep-seated respect for religious Sisters and a commitment to support the Congregation of St. Joseph in fulfillment of its mission, Charism and Generous Promises
  • Familiarity with government entitlement, Medicaid, and other health care and long-term care programs at both the federal and state levels
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills, as well as excellent oral and written communication skills
  • A collaborative and consultative leadership style that instills trust, confidence, and cooperation
  • The ability to multi-task and balance multiple projects with department timeframes.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration or demonstrated successful experience as a Finance/Accounting professional
  • A minimum of 3 years of professional work experience in the Accounting field, preferably in a mid-sized or larger organization.
  • Prior experience working with Accounting software; MIP preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience as a team leader; the ability to tap into and utilize the skills, strengths, and expertise of others.


Physical Activity Requirements:
• Standard office environment that is well Iii and ventilated.
• Ability to sit for long periods of time.
