The ACC selected Louisville over UCONN. I think BC was against UCONN

When UCONN decided to go to FBS in football, they made a large investment in the program and 40,000 seat Rentchler field was built in East Hartford. Now with the Big East announcement, the football program is in limbo.

I don’t think UCONN football can survive as an independent and I am not sure where they can go as a football only member. Their options here seem to be Conf. USA or the MAC. Don’t think that will happen in either case.

The AAC was a bad fit for UCONN both geographically and athletically. UCONN’s strength is its basketball programs. The men’s team was beginning to wilt away in the AAC.

With this announcement to join the Big East, I think UCONN decided basketball is more important than football.

It will be interesting to see what happens to the football program now.

The attached article from last January was pretty spot on about the UCONN athletic programs future.
