1. A heart-breaking gut-wrenching last second loss....aka... “we basically won”. See: Michigan State 2015, or Appalachian State 2007.

2. 2-3 Touchdown loss in a game that was never close....aka...”the game was ours if it weren’t for the refs”. See: this PSU game.

3. Blowout losses where they look truly terrible....aka.. “we didn’t play Michigan football today, but we are still co-champions of the big 10 East”. See: any Ohio state game, Notre Dame 37 Michigan 0.
