It's unconscionable to take this type of risk with any students, let alone athletes. There is clearly an identified but unknown long term health risk even with asymptomatic COVID cases. As I have stated before, I personally know of two college student athletes who were asymptomatic but eventually diagnosed with COVID after they had lingering issues that affected their athletic performance. Both are healing, but are not close to 100%. This is after several months.
It is one thing to try to have football and athletics with every effort to minimize COVID infection and spread. It is something else completely to have "most, but not all," of your athletes get infected. What a joke!
