there's nothing to be gained by putting the Kelly on the hotseat too early. It would just kill recruiting and start the rats jumping.

My guess is that he has serious doubts at this point, but he's straddling the line and waiting to see if Kelly performs. Either that or he's putting a nice face on while he plots a change.

I find it hard to believe he's just peachy and happy, but I wouldn't expect an Observer article to reveal his full negative thoughts unless he was using it to oust Kelly.

He has to know that a poor 2015 will make Kelly a lame duck.
