Will be interesting to follow his career at ND.

He's not a highly ranked player nationally, no doubt in part due to playing in such a small division. If you go to the 247 recruiting site and search for him he's ranked outside the top 1000 in the nation and not in the top 50 at his position of OLB. But reportedly Clark Lea was sold on him when he saw him play and along with Polian believe he can be a player at ND.

He had mostly offers from the Big 10 West plus Mich State.

In high school he was certainly Mr. Do it all...played LB and QB, rushed for 7,000 yds in his career.

Certainly will be a big step up for Jack. Good luck to him, everything I've read about him is very positive.

I agree

I had no idea that Jaylon Smith was from such a small school, also.

Jaylon

Jaylon attended Fort Wayne Bishop Leurs. While certainly a much smaller school (600 students) than the Indy area behemoths (4k-5k students), Leurs has been a football factory. 11 state championships, 4 state runners-up.

As we know a private school in a large city may be a smaller school, but the athlete pool often resembles much bigger schools.
