It's well-sourced and well-written. While everyone recalls Montana's hypothermia, I'd forgotten that Koegel played QB in Q3 that day. Perhaps Devine had decided to redshirt Lisch by that point in season--he was in a 5 yr architecture program, and he was starter in '79 season (his 5th year). ND normally didn't redshirt back then.

The comments about the condition of the Cotton Bowl carpet at time reminded me that said carpet was in bad shape the year before.
