Top 10 AD in salary. Not a top 10 athletic program.
Own it you smug pile of human feces. Own all of it
He’s got to be in the top three of all time.
role in US gymnastics.
Those words are all too familiar when it comes to ND.
About his skipping Muffet ‘s 900th win....which in itself is a dick move...
But I’d have expected him there anyway. It’s inexcusable that he wasn’t. I made an early flight from DFW to ORD; he could’ve taken one to SBN and been there well before tipoff.
It could be so much better, it simply chooses not to be.
attended. Very depressing to think that at age 60 I will never see another national championship in football during my lifetime.
primary cause of my feelings. Yes, the poor shepherding of many of the athletic programs (baseball, women's soccer, football, among others) is a contributor. It seems to me that the institutional rot is pervasive and deep. The BOT is ridiculously bloated. What would today's Notre Dame fight for? Seemingly, a serial molester and an enabler of other serial molesters, to name a couple of recent and shocking examples. I hold out hope that some day things will turn around, but I don't have much expectation that they will.
because that's clearly what a lot of people know us for. JS hiding behind his desk to prevent him from coming clean about his role in the gymnastics scandal makes me sick.
For Savvy when the alums started firing.
But would you expect nothing less than that from our AD?
"This pattern looks suspiciously like a calculated strategy to undermine and discourage victims. The investigators wanted to talk to Jack Swarbrick, a former counsel for USA Gymnastics, but he refused to be interviewed. He remains in hiding behind his athletic director’s desk at Notre Dame."
So yeah, about what I would expect from Swarbrick.
And by that, I mean guys I always associated with ND athletics. I have to wonder if they'd have done the same to Moose if he was still working around the offices today. Hey, look....I know you did a lot for the place Moose, but we just can't keep you around on Emeritus status. You're sort of expensive, so you're done at the end of the year. I'll need your keys.
Hard to imagine this happening in the 'old' days.
This is who we have become. A gauche, money-grubbing mediocrity squeezing any last worth out of an over-merchandised brand.
about responsible fiscal stewardship in the athletic department, he'd start by looking in the mirror.
That a school that pays its AD about double the guy in the number 2 slot (a mere $1.5 millionish more) simply can't afford a long time loyal employee.
