Here’s his tweet. He certainly could be getting run out of town. He also could just be looking to use his eligibility to play and get a masters.

Especially if he walks away with his degree. I say congrats on graduating in less than 4 years from a top notch school. Good for him.

This may be the new norm in the age of the new redshirt rule. Roster management will be challenging as recruits coming in one end of the pipeline force out those with eligibility remaining. But like you, this is conjecture at this stage.
